Anoushka Shakar is the American and British sitarist. She was the very first and youngest female to be awarded the British House of Commons Award. Anoushka Shakar, a young emerging star on the Indian Sitar, is Anoushka. She is the student and daughter of Ravi Shankar. Born in London, she spent the early years of her life traveling between London and New Delhi. Her first performance took place at New Delhi when she was only 13 years old. Later she moved into Encinitas CA where she graduated from High School with honours in 1999. Even though she's very young Anouskha has an impressive performing and recording.
